The Fake Alchemist Reveals First PV and Key Production Details

The production committee for The Fake Alchemist (Nisemono no Renkinjutsushi)has released a promotional video and announced the anime’s cast and staff. Miyari Nemoto and Youhei Matsuoka will voice the leads, Nora and Paracelsus, respectively. Studio Passione, known for titles like Nukitashi the Animation and Interspecies Reviewers, will animate the series.

Takeo Takahashi, director of the original Spice and Wolf anime, will serve as chief director. The additional staff includes:

• Hijiri Sanapei — Director
• Kenta Ihara —Series Composition
• Luka Standridge — Composer
• Yuka Takashina — Character Designer

The anime’s premiere date and broadcasting details are unknown. Likewise, no Western streaming company has announced the anime’s acquisition.

Nisemono no Renkinjutsushi follows Paracelsus, who after his reincaranation now lives in the city-state of Orichalconia. Unlike the dull world he left behind, Paracelsus-kun’s new home is a fantasy realm filled with alchemy and magic. Yet even there, he’s only scraping by.

But Paracelsus’ life quickly begins to change when he buys a shaman slave-girl named Nora. That momentum builds when he tries to save Coco, an elf who’s lost her senses and limbs. After all, how could Paracelsus know that his attempt to help Coco ends with him fighting gods?

The anime adapts The Fake Alchemist, a manga written by Jiro Sugiura and illustrated by Umemaru. The manga is a remake of a webcomic Sugiura originally published on his Pixiv account. KadoComi and Nico Nico Seiga, both operated by Kadokawa, have serialized The Fake Alchemist since its June 2023 debut. Kadokawa has collected the chapters into five tankōbon volumes. Yen Press began publishing the English edition in August 2025.
