Spirit Circle TV Anime Announced for December 2026, Reveals Cast and First Trailer

Written by Marko Jovanovic

Satoshi Mizukami’s Spirit Circle manga is officially getting a TV anime adaptation, with the release date set for December 2026. A teaser visual and first promotional video were revealed alongside the announcement.

The anime will run for 18 episodes and follows Fuuta Okeya, a 14-year-old boy who can see ghosts, and transfer student Kouko Ishigami. After Kouko notices the strange mark hidden beneath the bandage on Fuuta’s cheek, she reveals that the two are connected through multiple past lives and begins targeting him over a grudge carried across reincarnations.

The announced cast includes:

  • Kazuki Ura as Fuuta Okeya
  • Anna Nagase as Kouko Ishigami
  • Eri Yukimura as Rune
  • Yuichi Nakamura as East

Anna Nagase also performs the ending theme, “Koko ga Donna Sekai demo,” marking her first solo vocal performance.

Tatsuo Sato serves as director and series composer, with Kentaro Mizuno as assistant director and Satoru Fujimoto handling character design. NAGOMI and EOTA are co-producing the animation, with TWIN ENGINE producing the series.

Sato, known for works including Martian Successor Nadesico, Bodacious Space Pirates, and Stellvia, passed away in April 2026. Spirit Circle became his final work as director. Production continued under Mizuno and the rest of the staff, who completed the series while carrying forward Sato’s direction for the project.

Spirit Circle was serialized in Young King OURs from 2012 to 2016 and concluded with six volumes. Satoshi Mizukami is also known as the creator of Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer and Planet With. Seven Seas Entertainment licenced Spirit Circle in English, describing the story:
Fuuta Okeya can see ghosts. Besides that—and the bandage he always keeps on his cheek—he’s a perfectly normal 14-year old boy enamoured with the new transfer student. Unfortunately, Kouko Ishigami wants little to do with him. A strange ghost that follows her, however, seems to feel quite differently. But, when Kouko sees the strange birthmark hidden beneath the bandage on Fuuta’s cheek, she has a change of heart…for the worse. Not only does she denounce him as her enemy, but she claims that the birthmark is a curse she engraved upon his face during one of their many past lives. What happened between Kouko and Fuuta, and what is the connection to the strange, fantastical dreams that Fuuta begins to experience?
