Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1 Preview and Synopsis Revealed

Black Clover Season 2 has released preview images and the synopsis for Episode 1, titled “War Begins” (Episode 171 overall). The new season officially premieres on October 3, 2026, with Crunchyroll streaming it worldwide. It will also have an early screening as part of Crunchyroll’s Anime Nights on September 21.

The official Episode 1 synopsis:

The Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom are preparing to rescue Yami and the others, who were abducted by the Dark Triad.

Having completed the Devil-Binding Ritual, Asta and Liebe are training to master Devil Union. Meanwhile, Yuno is training to defeat Zenon, who defeated him once before, and rescue Vangeance.At the same time, in the Spade Kingdom, Morris, a magical scholar driven out of the Diamond Kingdom, is steadily preparing to open the gates of the underworld.

At last, the battle between the elite Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom and the Dark Triad begins!

The Black Clover manga was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 2015 to August 2023, before transferring to Jump GIGA. It entered its final arc in August 2022 and officially ended on May 1 after eleven years of serialization. The manga is available to read on Viz Media’s website, MANGA Plus website, and the Shonen Jump mobile app in English. 

It received a 170-episode anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot, which ran from 2017 to 2021. The Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King movie premiered on June 16 and is streaming on Netflix. Crunchyroll streams the TV anime, and they describe the story:
